About Us
We are a mother and daughter team in the dressmaking business. Several years ago, my daughter, Cait, decided that she wanted tobecome more involved with her Irish heritage and began Irish dancing. I started making her dresses when she began competing. Over the years, friends approached us and so we began designing and creating Irish dance dresses. We have now become fully immersed in the Irish dance world through creating dresses, and Cait being a TCRG.
We chose our name in honour of my mother, who was in love with the Irish culture, even though she wasn’t Irish (but she did know how to sew!).The Vale of Avoca is a place in Ireland she always wished that she would visit one day.
We work on a “one dress at a time” pace. We encourage and welcome the input of our customers and their teachers when it comes to colour, style, anddesign – so that your dress will reflect your dancer. We have watched styles change dramatically over the years, and enjoy mixing the new and the old to create a dress that will complement and enhance your dancer.
We want you to know when your dress will be started and when it will be finished. The prices of our dresses vary, depending on the fabrics used and the amount of detailed work involved. Generally, the final price for a dress would be in the $1700 - $2200 range.
Our passion for Irish dancing has grown over the years and we hope that wecan help you and your dancer continue this beautiful cultural expression by creating a dress that your dancer will love to wear and make her feel like a true “Irish Princess.”
